How do images exist, travel, show different realities make appear a common, shared history beyond national differences? The exhibition Shared History\/<br \/>\nDecolonising the Image seeks to extend the understanding of \u2018decolonisation\u2019 in a historical, geographical and conceptual sense. It brings together various artists and filmmakers who reflect upon decolonisation as a working concept, a historical reality and a contemporary situation inherited from the past. <\/p>\n<p>Exhibition curated by Delphine Bedel and Sophie Berrebi,. Participating artists: Tiong Ang, Dineo Bopape, Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, Cl\u00e1udia Crist\u00f3v\u00e3o, Fendry Ekel, Mounir Fatmi, Johan Gri-monprez, Sigalit Landau, Otobong Nkanga, Jayce Salloum, Ren\u00e9e Ridgway, Jean Rouch, Kwang-Ju Son. Venues: Arti & Amicitiae 06 May - 04 June ,W139 13 May - 04 June 2006.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-2051-0-1-2\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"3\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><h3 class=\"widget-title\">Video Lounge<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>This part of the exhibition further underlines the necessity of employing multiple perspectives in order to reflect upon the complex issue of decolonisation and its images. Through documentary, fictional narratives and artists\u2019 films. It will show contemporary view\u00adpoints from the Middle East, Indonesia, South Africa, Turkey, New Zealand, Algeria and other countries. International artists researchers, curators and film collectives were invited to selected three films. Most of these videos have never before been screened in the Netherlands.
